Sabudana (Sago seed) Kheer
It is a fasting menu in north India made in occasions of Navarathri. They are also known as tapioca seeds and chowary in southern most parts of India.
Ingredients
- Sago seeds – half cup
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Sugar – half cup
- Milk – 2 cups
- cardamom powder – a pinch
- Nuts fried in ghee for garnishing
Preparation
- Pre soak the sago seeds for one hour to save your cooking time.
- Cook them with milk . It took me 15 mts to get the sago seeds lose its elasticity and be soft and transparent.
- Add sugar ,cardamom powder and ghee and stir for 3 – 4 mts.
- Serve the hot kheer after garnishing with fried nuts.
